Cathy Cameron
Quincy Catholic Academy
Cathy is currently the principal of Quincy Catholic Academy in Quincy, Massachusetts. Cathy has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Boston College, a Master’s degree in Education from Curry College, and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Administration from Emmanuel College. Cathy was a first grade teacher for 19 years and has been a principal in several Catholic schools for 17 years. She is also a part time professor in the graduate program at Curry College. When Quincy Catholic Academy opened in September of 2010 there was a MAC lab and a few older model computers in some classrooms. Since then, different forms of technology have been implemented in various level classrooms including Smart Boards, Chrome books, ipads, and Apple TV’s.
Brian M. Cote
Saint Francis of Assisi School
Brian is currently completing his second year as the principal at Saint Francis of Assisi School in Braintree, Massachusetts. Previously, he was the principal at Saint Mary’s Primary School in Taunton, MA and music teacher at Cardinal Cushing School in Hanover, Massachusetts. He was instrumental in planning, implementing and integrating the Saint Francis of Assisi School’s 1:1 iPad initiative in grades 4 – 8. In addition, Brian provided professional development, supported teachers and incorporated and enhanced instruction with technology/iPad integration and 21st Century learning. Last summer, Brian presented an iPad Workshop for School Leaders, sponsored by the Carolyn A. Lynch Institute at Emmanuel College.
Barbara Plunkett
Mount Alvernia Academy
Appointed in 2011 as the principal of Mount Alvernia Academy in Chestnut Hill. Barbara spent thirteen years as a third grade teacher. Since assuming that role, Barbara has overseen the implementation of the following projects: a campus-wide Wi-Fi network, deployment of an iPad cart, installation of SMART Carts and additional SMART Boards, Apple TVs in all grades (preschool through sixth grade), as well as an after-school Robotics program for grades four through six. Drawing from her diverse experiences as a classroom teacher and principal, she is committed to addressing the issues of today’s educator through collaboration with faculty, students, and parents to develop and implement technology that enhances the students’ learning experience. To that end, she is committed to staff development by focusing on the integration of technology into the curriculum and classrooms so that students may create, investigate, connect, and learn via digital environments.
Jim Spillman
Blessed Sacrament School
Jim is entering his fifth year as principal at Blessed Sacrament School in Walpole. Prior to his time in Walpole, he worked for eight years in campus ministry and as an administrator at Xaverian Brothers High School in Westwood. This past year, Jim helped to initiate and implement a 1:1 iPad program for the middle school students at BSS. With the support of the school’s dedicated teachers and parents, the program has helped to transform teaching and learning in ways that promote the acquisition and mastery of 21st century skills. Jim has a Masters degree in Educational Administration and in Pastoral Ministry, both from Boston College.
