DIGITAL STORYTELLING - Advancing STRAND
Presenter: Sean Sweeney, Instructional Technology Specialist
This workshop is designed to advance participants thinking and comfort around the pedagogy and rationale for using digital storytelling apps in the classroom, as well as hands-on practice with exemplary tools. Participants will practice creating products with select tools and leave with a sense of key features and intermediate strategies in digital storytelling apps that support learning. In other words, the workshop will focus on fun, engaging tools that you can use to present content to students or ask them to "show what they know.”

The session will employ app demonstration along with examples and key ideas in integrating tools for curriculum goals. Hands-on work and Q/A will be provided throughout as we explore:
- Book Creation: Book Creator and Story Creator-employing feature analysis to select the best app for your project.
- Comics: Comics Head and Strip Designer-making curriculum visual and engaging.
- Video and Animation: Explanimation: Explain Everything, iMovie and Adobe Voice- using apps as part of a process
- App-Smashing: Combining Pic Collage with Tellagami, looking beyond this to other creative app combinations and problem solving
- Using Dropbox or Drive to collect and manage products.
- Copyright and Creative Commons issues, obtaining images for projects.
